Denielle Bassels

Toronto born Indie-swing chanteuse Denielle Bassels is a rising star in the Canada jazz scene. Her whimsical brand of music is a caravan of jazz manouche, blues, folk, with a tinge of pop, all wrapped in an innovative and scintillating package. Already an award-winning artist for the song "Cool Cool Water"from her 2017 album "What About Wool Wishbags", Bassels garnered the Grand Prize in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition, for Jazz, and as well, she was Finalist in the JLSC for the originals "Catch'er And She Gone" and "Dreamer". The Toronto-based Denielle Bassels and her Quintet have been entertaining audiences in venues all over the GTA, and are building a reputation.

Barb Jordan & Peter Hill

Barbara Jordan is a talented, versatile vocalist who sings in many musical genres. She has performed in Canada, the U.S. and internationally with leading jazz bands. A passionate performer, for the past 15 years Barbara has appeared at well-known jazz locales in Toronto such as The Rex,  C’est What,  744, ( formerly the Chicken Deli ) and the iconic Grossman’s Tavern singing New Orleans style jazz, 20’s 30’s traditional jazz and swing. She also appeared monthly at The Red Lantern in Toronto.

Known as a singer’s best friend, Peter Hill has been an in-demand sideman in the Toronto jazz scene for over 20 years including regular performances at The Rex Hotel in Toronto.

The Phoenix Jazz Quintet is a group of experienced musicians who share a deep love of jazz music. Collectively the band has over 150 years of performing for audiences in the Orillia/Barrie area, Toronto, and the Muskokas. They are comfortable performing all jazz styles including swing, latin, blues, rock, and ballads. The Phoenix Jazz Quintet is Russ Strathdee (tenor and alto sax), Randy Hoover (flugel horn), Ian Thurston (guitar), Bruce Rumble (bass), and Mike Smit  (drums).
