Happy New Year!

Arts Orillia launched many new programs and partnerships in 2023. Thank you to all of the local and visiting artists who worked with us to deliver inspiring performances and exciting educational workshops for our community. We’ve taken some time to reflect and would love to share a snapshot of our work last year — Arts Orillia Gallery

This winter don’t miss…

Black in Canada

February 21, 2024 | 10am / 12:30pm

Orillia Opera House

A performance by Shameka Blake and Artist In Motion that brings attention to the overlooked histories of Black people in Canada and unfolds stories of resistance and resilience through dance, song, spoken word, and archived recordings.

Julie et L’Univers

March 22, 2024 | 7:30pm

Orillia Opera House

A performance by Laurence Lemieux and performed by Pianist Jeanie Chung and dancers from Compagnie de la Citadelle. This work is set in a wintry landscape with three young women on the cusp of adulthood moving expressively to the music of Franz Schubert as they alternate between the utter wonderment and discovery of youth and the uncertainty and loneliness of adolescence.

Water Monument

January - March 2024

School Workshops

An interactive eco-art experience for young environmentalists and student artists! We discuss water care through a variety of cultural perspectives. Students will engage in a community assemblage project where they are encouraged to photograph, sculpt design, discuss, and imagine a better future together. This experience places a strong focus on collaboration, mindfulness, and empathic listening as we collectively take responsibility to protect our earth for future generations!

We appreciate your support as Arts Orillia’s leadership role grows in the community!
