Future Fest 2024 - You are swimming here... / Postcards to the Future

“You are swimming here…” is an augmented reality installation by adelheid led by Heidi Strauss and Luke Garwood. The experience was featured at the Orillia Rec Centre where participants were able to consider the history of this land. “You are swimming here…” is an independent and interactive wayfinding mission that centres climate change and human impact on the natural world.

It was amazing to spend the last day of Future Fest at Culture Days with so many community collaborators. “Postcards to the Future” was a hit!! Shout out to Orillia’s Cultural Coordinator, Allie Bradford, for bringing Arts Orillia, Orillia and Area Black Community, Georgian College, North Simcoe Arts, Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH), and Orillia Women’s Native Group together for this important project!
