Global Steps, is a workshop series that teaches students about people and places through dance. This fall, dance artist Liyah Simbulan will lead an exciting experience in Jazz Dance. Biography
Liyah Simbulan
Liyah Simbulan is a Toronto based dance artist, choreographer and dance educator. Liyah’s work through dance and choreography engages with social issues, specifically racial and feminist movements. Liyah pushes social boundaries through the art of dance and upholds the importance of representation by proudly claiming her Jamaican & Filipino heritage. She is a recipient of a BFA in Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) as of spring 2026.
